The Afternoon Tea takes place at Pacific Emporium, which is a 102-seater restaurant located at the atrium of Pan Pacific Singapore (Level 1).
Pacific Emporium has normal dining seats, sofa seats and the highly Instagrammable floating pod seats sitting on top of a shallow reflective pool. If you’re keen to be seated in the pod, I recommend that you make reservation in advance.
The afternoon tea is available daily with two seatings: 1pm to 3pm (1st seating) and 4pm to 6pm (2nd seating).
We get to sit in the floating pod, and I think it’s the best seat in the restaurant! If you’re worried about the difficulty of calling the staff, fret not, there’s a button you can press to call them.
The dishes are presented in a three-tier arrangement, with the frame resembling the floating pod that we are seated in. How cool!
The bottommost tier houses 6 savoury items. My personal favourites are the sando and tuna.
Meanwhile, the middle and upper tiers house the sweets. I love the Apple Yuzu Citrus and Mango Pomelo Sablé.
For drinks, guests can choose from Lavazzo coffee selections or TWG Tea selections. For the coffee, you can request for additional shot(s), decaffeinated or iced options.
Exclusively on weekends, the afternoon tea will feature 5 buffet-style live stations, serving Prawn Noodle Soup with Fresh Tiger Prawn, Water Spinach, and Sliced Pork, Penang Tangy Assam Laksa, Wok Hei Char Kway Teow with Pacific Crab Meat, Local Fruit Rojak, and D24 Durian Crêpe.
The Prawn Noodle Soup, Assam Laksa and Crepe stations are prepared in the open-kitchen at the atrium. The chef cooks in front of you, and you get to add your preferred toppings.
The Char Kway Teow is my favourite live station. Instead of open kitchen, we have to order through the staff (well, it’s wok hey so they’ll need a proper exhaust). I’d say they’re quite generous with the ingredients.
I mean, with one huge tiger prawn with several chunks of crab meat on top of extra delicious Penang-style char kway teow; I’m in heaven!
During my visit, the Crêpe station offers two types of crêpe: banana chocolate crêpe and D24 durian crêpe. We LOVE the crêpes!
Then, there’s a DIY Rojak station where you can choose your preferred ingredients, add the sauces according to your preferred ratio, mix and toss your own rojak. Yep, you tiao (fried dough) is included!
Overall, we really enjoy our Afternoon Tea experience at Pacific Emporium. Even though the menu states only 9 dishes, we were presented with 12 dishes, which was a pleasant surprise!
Even though it’s an Afternoon Tea, not a buffet, we left the restaurant extremely full and satisfied.
