Changi Experience Studio is an attraction located at Level 4 of Jewel Changi Airport. It was opened in 2019, a few months after the opening of Jewel.
Changi Experience Studio offers over 10 zones, each with its own theme and features. Most of the activities require active participation (except Finale), so you won’t feel bored at any time. Don’t worry, the activities are not strenuous. They’re quite fun, even for adults.
I hesitated visiting the studio when it opened because I had the impression that it’s a family attraction mostly catered for children.
Fast forward to 2023, I finally decided to visit the studio because as a Changi Rewards member, one of the birthday perks is a free visit to the studio within 1 month from my birthday (yay!). If you’re not a member yet, you can sign up for free. But they change their perks from time to time, I’m not sure this perk will last until when.
In this article, I’ll share what to expect from each zones as well as essential information about Changi Experience Studio.

Changi Experience Studio Ticket

Changi Experience Studio Opening Hours
Changi Experience Studio is open everyday. Here are the opening hours:
- Mon – Fri: 11am – 8pm (Last admission at 7pm)
- Sat, Sun & PH: 10am – 8pm (Last admission at 7pm)
How Much Time to Spend at Changi Experience Studio
As a thirty-something adult, I spent 1 hour at Changi Experience Studio. I spent more time reading the history at Hanging Garden, and skipped the Smile challenge as well as the games at Backstage, Arena and Garden of Harmony.
If you’re visiting as a family with kid(s), you’ll probably need go spend 2-3 hours at Changi Experience Studio because kid(s) will spent tons of time at the games and Garden of Harmony.
How to go to Changi Experience Studio
Changi Experience Studio is located at Level 4 of Jewel Changi Airport.
Here are the various ways to get to Jewel from all of the terminals in Changi Airport:
- From Terminal 1: Go to Arrival Hall (Level 1) and Jewel is right there. Go up to Level 4 and follow the signs to Changi Experience Studio.
- From Terminal 2: Go to Departure Hall (Level 2) Row 1, walk through the link bridge to Jewel. Go up to Level 4 and follow the signs to Changi Experience Studio.
- From Terminal 3: Go to Departure Hall (Level 2) Row 11, walk through the link bridge to Jewel. Go up to Level 4 and follow the signs to Changi Experience Studio.
- From Terminal 4: Take shuttle bus to T1, you will alight in front of Jewel & T1 (Level 2). Walk to Jewel, go up to Level 4 and follow the signs to Changi Experience Studio.
If you’re taking MRT from other parts of Singapore, you can exit at either Terminal 2 or Terminal 3. Then, follow the steps mentioned above.
What to do at Changi Experience Studio
During admission, you will be given a Travel Guide (a thick paper tab) that you must use to enter the studio, as well as to participate in the activities.
1. Cloud
Cloud is the first zone that you will encounter as soon as you enter Changi Experience Studio. In this zone, you place the the Travel Guide below the light beam, and butterfly animations will appear on your Travel Guide.
Different light beams have different animations, so it can be quite tempting to try each and every beam. But I’d recommend not to spend too much time here because there are lots of interesting zones ahead.
2. Time Tunnel
The time tunnel is a short walk-through tunnel whose walls are pasted with photos and videos about the history Singapore’s airport.
3. Hanging Garden
Hanging Garden is a zone filled with overflowing potted plants and interactive tables packed with interesting bite-sized facts about Singapore’s Changi Airport.
You can hover your Guide on the designated spots and animations will appear on your Guide to reveal the facts about the airport.
4. Amazing Runway
Amazing Runway is probably the most engaging zone at Changi Experience Studio. It is a race between team Car and team Plane. There are 8 stationary bikes and 2 hand-paddle machines; the left 5 belongs to team Car and the right 5 belongs to team Plane.
You can choose your machine by activating it using the Travel Guide. Then, race as fast as you can against your opponents to be a winner. No prize for the winner, though, so don’t over-exert yourself!
5. Sky Deck
Sky Deck is a viewing deck with lots of screens where you can see the ongoing flights’ routes from and into Singapore. It’s like a flightradar but on a giant scale.
You can hover your Travel Guide above the flight timeline to read about the destinations.
6. Backstage
Backstage is the zone where you can have a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes of running a busy airport like Changi Airport.
There are games designed to let you try to run a successful airport, such as baggage control, passenger access control (immigration), check-in and even plane parking.
There’s also a Photo Booth where you can take a picture in front of a green screen. Later, you can purchase the photo at the Gift Shop.
Other things not to miss out at Backstage zone are the various trophies Changi Airport has won in the past, as well as PM Lee Hsien Loong’s 3D hand prints during the opening of Jewel in 2019.
7. Garden of Harmony
Located furthest from the entrance of Changi Experience Studio is the Garden of Harmony. It is so hidden that I almost missed it.
It’s quite a fun zone in my opinion. You can create a sound by so many ways, such as tapping on the petals by hand or placing your Travel Guide under the light beams. It is such a detailed and interactive zone; you’d thought you had done it all and then realised that you hadn’t.
8. Arena
As the name suggests, Arena is like a mini-arcade full of games. You get to create your own profile and you collect points from playing all of the games. The more points you collect, the higher the discount you are entitled to at the gift shop.
Some of the games are steering the baggage trolley, taxi coordination, and bag X-ray.
9. Smile Challenge
At Smile Challenge zone, you will be judged by how friendly your smile is. Yep, that’s brutal, but I guess it’s fun nonetheless. I wasn’t prepared to judged by my smile so I skipped it, but the kids had great fun at this zone.
10. Finale
Finale is a half-documentary, half-fly-through show where you get to see Changi Airport in the past, present and future. You’ll get to see how it got constructed in the past, the current layout of the airport and Jewel, as well as the artist’s impression of the future Terminal 5 that’s being constructed.
Finale is my favourite zone, and I highly recommend that you don’t miss it! The show is about 4-5 mins long.
11. Flight Simulator
Flight Simulator is an add-on experience. A 15-min flight simulator costs SGD 36. You can get it cheaper if you purchase a bundle of Changi Experience Studio with Flight Simulator for SGD 49.80 (adult) or SGD 46.80 (child).

Is Changi Experience Studio Worth It?
I think Changi Experience Studio is a great attraction for history buffs who love to learn about the past of Changi Airport. It is also a great place for family with young kids who are looking for exciting things to do during the school holiday.
It is definitely worth visiting at least once.
